Parag Khanna is the personification of the idiom “think globally.” He is the founder of FutureMap, a data and scenario based strategic advisory firm that provides expertise on global trends, technological disruptions, and economic planning to companies and governments from the US to the UAE. The author of six books, his most recent was the 2019 The Future is Asian: Commerce, Conflict & Culture in the 21st Century, a rethinking of Asia’s geopolitical, economic, technological, and cultural rise. He has also written about global strategy in publications from The New York Times and Wall Street Journal to the Financial Times and Foreign Affairs, and regularly appears on CNN, CNBC, and other global media networks.
Khanna has been an advisor and fellow at multiple institutions, including New America, Brookings, Council on Foreign Relations, World Economic Forum, and the Lee Kuan Yew School at the National University of Singapore. He was a senior geopolitical advisor to US Special Operations Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan and also an advisor to the US National Intelligence Council’s Global Trends 2030 program. He graduated from Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service and holds a PhD from the London School of Economics.
